About BHAYAAVAH: The First Curse
BHAYAAVAH: The First Curse (pronounced Bhay-aa-vah) is an upcoming Indian psychological horror web series that follows Aman Sharma, a man who returns to a remote hill town to fulfil his late father’s dying wish. What begins as a simple journey of duty quickly unravels into something far more sinister. An ancient curse, buried secrets, and a supernatural entity tied to a prophecy rooted in the story of Adam, Eve, and the Serpent.
Blending Indian mythology, psychological horror, supernatural mystery, romance, and thriller elements, BHAYAAVAH: The First Curse creates a world where love, destiny, faith, and ancient evil collide. The series consists of six episodes, each running 30 to 35 minutes, structured and paced specifically for binge viewing on premium Indian OTT platforms.
Unlike conventional Indian horror series that rely on local folklore and jump scares, this Indian supernatural thriller reaches into the oldest story of temptation and fall humanity has ever known and asks a deeply unsettling question: what if that darkness never left?
Wilfred Fernandes: The Vision Behind BHAYAAVAH
BHAYAAVAH: The First Curse is created and produced by Wilfred Fernandes, an Australian-Indian filmmaker whose atmospheric storytelling style has been shaped equally by the psychological horror traditions of Australian cinema and the emotional depth of Indian narrative filmmaking. Fernandes developed this series as a culturally rooted yet internationally accessible project. A bold modern reinterpretation of good versus evil for a global streaming audience.
“BHAYAAVAH explores fear beyond jump scares. It is a story about destiny, faith, morality, and the darkness that exists within and around us. We wanted to create a horror experience that feels emotionally grounded while remaining visually immersive and psychologically unsettling.”
– Wilfred Fernandes, Creator & Producer
Fernandes’ approach patient, atmospheric, prioritising psychological dread over shock value is precisely what sets BHAYAAVAH apart in India’s rapidly growing horror OTT landscape in 2026.
