India’s Real-Life James Bond? Retired IPS Officer Abhay Chudasama Reveals the Inside Story of India’s Biggest Terror Investigations

In an exclusive interview, Shri Abhay Chudasama shares remarkable insights from his years in policing, including the investigation that followed the devastating 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts.

The Ahmedabad attacks became one of India’s most significant terror investigations. Investigators faced an enormous challenge in tracing a network operating across multiple locations. Reports on the investigation describe how crucial breakthroughs emerged through field intelligence, mobile-phone analysis, surveillance and coordinated operations involving police teams across states.

One important lead reportedly emerged when information reached then DCP Crime Abhay Chudasama regarding a suspicious vehicle and a possible hideout near Bharuch. The investigation subsequently helped investigators trace operational networks connected with the Indian Mujahideen conspiracy.

The wider investigation involved extensive coordination, technical intelligence and field operations as Gujarat Police worked to identify and arrest those allegedly connected with the conspiracy. The case later developed into one of the largest terror investigations and trials in India.

In the exclusive conversation, Shri Abhay Chudasama discusses the realities behind major police investigations—the pressure of working against time, developing intelligence leads, tracking criminal networks and coordinating high-risk operations.

From the Ahmedabad serial blast investigation to his wider experiences in policing and tackling serious organised crime, the interview offers viewers a rare perspective into the demanding world of intelligence-led law enforcement.

This is not a movie script. It is a conversation about real investigations, real risks and the relentless pursuit of those responsible for serious crimes.
