Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has delivered a thunderous opening weekend, crossing the Rs 300 crore worldwide mark in just three days. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed sequel, which hit theatres on 15 October 2026, collected an estimated Rs 47.80 crore net in India on Day 3 and pushed its global gross to Rs 317.15 crore. Strong Tamil Nadu numbers, solid Telugu contributions and robust overseas earnings have kept the film firmly on track for a massive first weekend.
Day 3 India Collections and Language Breakdown
According to Sacnilk tracking data widely reported across major outlets, Jailer 2 earned Rs 47.80 crore net in India on Saturday (Day 3) from 14,604 shows. The Tamil version remained the clear leader, contributing Rs 34.60 crore from 7,802 shows. The Telugu version added Rs 8.50 crore across 2,100 shows, while the Hindi version collected Rs 4.25 crore from 4,554 shows. A smaller Kannada contribution of around Rs 45 lakh completed the day’s domestic haul.
This takes the film’s three-day India net total to Rs 144.60 crore and India gross to Rs 169.65 crore. Day 1 had opened with a massive Rs 59.70 crore net, followed by Rs 37.10 crore on Day 2. The Saturday recovery of nearly 29 per cent from Friday’s figures shows healthy word-of-mouth and strong weekend demand, especially in Tamil Nadu and key southern markets.
Overseas Performance and Worldwide Total
Overseas markets continued to power the film’s global run. Jailer 2 collected an estimated Rs 47.50 crore overseas on Day 3, taking its cumulative overseas gross to Rs 147.50 crore. Combined with the domestic gross of Rs 169.65 crore, the worldwide total now stands at Rs 317.15 crore after three days.
The film had already recorded one of the strongest overseas openings of 2026, earning around Rs 57 crore on its first day outside India. That early international momentum, followed by steady Day 2 and Day 3 numbers, helped it comfortably cross the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone well ahead of the first weekend close.
How Jailer 2 Compares and What Comes Next
With these figures, Jailer 2 has already become one of the fastest Tamil films of 2026 to enter the Rs 300 crore worldwide club. It has also overtaken several high-profile releases in overseas opening performance this year. Trade analysts note that the film’s combination of Rajinikanth’s star power, Nelson Dilipkumar’s mass-friendly style and Anirudh Ravichander’s music has translated into strong footfalls across languages.
The cast includes Rajinikanth in the lead as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Vidya Balan, S.J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Special appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan and others have added further buzz. As the film heads into the rest of the Dasara holiday period, industry trackers expect the collections to remain healthy, with the Rs 350 crore and Rs 400 crore worldwide marks now within realistic reach if the current momentum holds.
