CPS Global Expands Its International Testing Portfolio with Michigan English Test

The association was highlighted during a visit to CPS Global by Joseph Bernard Hernandez, Assistant Director – Michigan English Test (MET), and Prakash Upadhyay, Senior Business Manager – SAARC & Middle East. Their visit marked an important engagement between the organisations, with a shared focus on expanding awareness of English proficiency testing and helping candidates understand the assessment options available for their intended goals.

Michigan Language Assessment is a collaboration between the University of Michigan and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, bringing together decades of experience in English language education and assessment. Its Michigan English Test evaluates all four core language skills—Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking—providing a comprehensive assessment of a candidate’s English proficiency. For individuals applying to international institutions or pursuing professional opportunities overseas, demonstrating proficiency across these skills can be an important part of meeting the relevant requirements.

MET has recognition across academic and professional settings internationally. It is accepted by more than 35 U.S. state boards of nursing, subject to the requirements of the respective boards, and is approved by Australia’s Department of Home Affairs for eligible visa purposes. This makes the test an option worth exploring for candidates whose professional or immigration pathways recognise the assessment. Acceptance and score requirements can vary, however, so applicants should verify the current criteria with their intended institution, licensing authority or relevant immigration department before booking.

The assessment also offers practical features that can help candidates manage their application timelines. According to information provided by Michigan Language Assessment, results are typically available within five days. Flexible scheduling provides additional convenience for people balancing examination requirements with work or study commitments. The availability of single-section retakes, subject to applicable conditions, can also allow candidates to focus on improving a particular skill rather than repeating the entire assessment. Candidates should check the current scheduling options, retake policies and fees before registering.

CPS Global, a New Delhi-based organisation providing test administration, assessment support and examination services for candidates across India, continues to strengthen its presence in the international testing ecosystem. The inclusion of MET broadens the assessment options available through its portfolio and supports candidates seeking suitable testing pathways for academic, professional and eligible visa-related purposes. The organisation’s role extends beyond the examination itself to helping candidates navigate the practical considerations involved in selecting and accessing an appropriate assessment.

As international education and professional mobility create opportunities across countries, choosing the right English proficiency test has become an important part of the application journey. Candidates need to look beyond the familiarity of a test name and establish whether it meets the requirements of their intended destination. Understanding the examination format, confirming acceptance and allowing adequate preparation time can help them approach the process with greater clarity.

Through its association with Michigan Language Assessment, CPS Global aims to support candidates in accessing relevant testing services and making informed decisions about their English proficiency requirements. The development underscores the value of collaboration between assessment organisations and testing service providers in connecting candidates with opportunities that match their academic and professional ambitions.
