From Classroom to Career: What Does It Really Take to Make India’s Youth Career-Ready?

For years, preparing India’s young people for the future has largely been viewed through two separate milestones: completing education and finding a job. But the transition between the two is becoming increasingly important. A degree may open a door, but young people also need confidence, awareness, practical skills and adaptability to navigate the world of work.

As careers and workplaces continue to evolve, career readiness cannot begin only when a student starts looking for a job. It needs to be built much earlier — through classrooms that encourage curiosity and confidence, career exploration that helps young people understand their strengths, and higher education that connects learning with the professional world.

The challenge, therefore, is about creating a stronger continuum between learning, career discovery and employability.
